JR Music has a personal relationship with each of these makers, and we are the exclusive distributors of these products in the U.S. and Canada. Jarek Koscielny Violins

Jarek Koscielny’s workshop is located in Czestochowa, Poland, the town of the famous Black Madonna frequently visited by Catholic tourist and pilgrimages. Made from the finest quality Polish and Romanian materials, all instruments are made by Koscielny in the white. Next, the instruments are sent to one of our Polish shops skilled in antique varnishing techniques to give each instrument a distinctive, personal appearance.  Finally, the instrument goes back to Master Koscielny, where it will be fully and carefully set up to bring the best sound out of each and every instrument.

Roman Glogowski Violins

Roman Glogowski is a sophisticated and mature maker who is very well known and regarded in Poland. He was born in 1966 in Zakopane, Poland, where he attended the Fine Arts High School. He later attended the Nowy Targ Violin Making College. He has since become known for his fine sounding violins.

Andrzej Swietlinski Violins

Andrejz Swietlinski was born in Nowy Targ, Poland in 1962. He is a graduate of the Fine Arts High School in Zakopane, and went on to study violin making and luthiery at the Liceum of Plastic Work in Zakopane, as well as sculpture and art at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Art in Krakow. He apprenticed under the well known Polish Master Jan Bobak in the 1990’s, and founded the Swietlinski-Glodek-Szlachtowski Workshop in the mountainous region of Poland. His violins and violas have received international acclaim and are played by many respected musicians worldwide.

Maciej Lacek Violins

Maciej Lacek is a master luthier and member of the Polish Violin Makers Association. He is the son and graduate student of Jan Lacek, a well respected luthier who founded the Luthier School Institute in Nowy Targ, Poland. The incredible talent and knowledge that he gained from working with his father from an early age is reflected by creating instruments that have remarkable tone, response, and projection, as well as great beauty in workmanship and varnish. His craftsmanship is becoming more and more popular all over the world and his instruments are being critically acclaimed by players and collectors. Many concertmasters, leading players and symphony orchestra musicians who perform regularly in United States, Western Europe and especially in Poland are playing on Mr. Lacek’s instruments.

Pawel Migiel Violins

Pawel Migiel was born in Zakopane, Poland in 1982, and his affinity for the violin and its construction started as a child. After finishing his schooling, he went to work as an apprentice to Wojciech Topa, with whom he still works.

He builds violins, violas, and cellos in the patterns of Italian masters including Antonio Stradivari, Guarneri del Gesu, and Matteo Gofriller. Although still young, his instruments are rapidly gaining reputation around the world, and are sought after by students and mature musicians alike.

Gregorz Bobak Violins

Grzegorz Bobak was born in 1977 in Zakopane in the Tatra Mountains region of south Poland. After graduating from the Antoni Kenar Arts High School in Zakopane with a specialization in sculpture, he studied luthierie at the Chicago School of Violin Making. Today he is one of Poland’s most sought-after young makers.

Wojciech Topa Violins

One of Poland’s finest luthiers, Wojciech Topa has received critical acclaim around the world. He was born in 1961, and studied at the Fine Arts High School in Zakopane before attending the Technical College of Violin Making in Nowy Targ, Poland. He finished his studies under the Master Jan Bobak. Topa’s instruments are known for their power, projection, and virtuosity and are truly soloists’ instruments.
