Eurosonic Strings
JR Music Supply manufactures its own line of cello and bass strings, the Eurosonic.
The bass strings, which have developed a cult-like following with many players, are an excellent alternative to more costly and problematic gut strings. The nylon strings especially are popular with many jazz, slap, rockabilly and bluegrass musicians. What truly sets them apart is their design. The silk/steel core and nylon wrap provide a thick attack and less pronounced sustain than other strings, and make for a gentle experience for both hands.
The Ultralight model is very low tension, great for slap and rockabilly playing. Players who play more classic jazz or a mix of styles would do well with the Light model, and the Medium set is great if you prefer a stiffer string with more vintage character.
We recently introduced a Steel wrapped model, which is perfect for classical players or arco playing.
The cello strings feature a Tungsten wrap, and are a great alternative to Larsen and Spirocore strings.
